Archiving Incidents (Hide From Lists)

Incident archiving lets you hide a resolved incident from status page incident lists (like the Recent Incidents section) while keeping the incident accessible via its direct link.

This is useful when you want to reduce noise on your status page without deleting history.

What Archiving Does

When you archive an incident:

  • It is removed from status page incident list views (for example, Recent Incidents)
  • The incident page itself still works via its direct URL
  • You can optionally add a public archive reason (shown on the incident page)
  • You can unarchive later to show it again

Archiving does not delete the incident, its updates, or any postmortem.

Requirements and Permissions

Archiving is intentionally gated to avoid accidental hiding:

  • The incident must be Resolved
  • Your plan must include Incident Archiving
  • You must have manage access to the status page (read-only team access can view incidents but cannot archive/unarchive)

If archiving is unavailable, the UI will show why.

How to Archive an Incident

  1. Go to Dashboard β†’ Incidents
  2. Find the incident you want to hide
  3. Click the Archive / Hide action (eye-slash icon)
  4. Confirm the action
  5. (Optional) Enter a public archive reason

The archive reason is optional and is shown publicly on the incident page.

How to Unarchive an Incident

  1. Go to Dashboard β†’ Incidents
  2. Find the incident with the hidden indicator
  3. Click Unarchive / Show on status page
  4. Confirm

Public Behavior

Archived incidents:

  • Do not appear in status page incident lists
  • Still render on the incident detail page if someone has the link
  • Can still have a published postmortem (if you use postmortems)
